"Wake up already!" She kicked his foot and he stirred. It was barely dawn and they'd traveled a long ways the night before. "I thought you were being serious about the whole training bit."
"I'm up." He said groggily as he rubbed his eyes and stretched.
Brone laughed and passed him some bread for breakfast. "She got impatient."
"No kidding." He said drowsily.
"He's not using my sword." She said as she took a piece of bread for herself.
"You're right, because we're not using swords today." Brone answered laughing.
She smiled innocently "Why not?"
"You know he won't be able to lift mine, much less use it properly and I don't want you hacking him to death on his first lesson ."
"Now why would I do a thing like that?" She grinned and punched Garrett making him spill his drink on his boots.
He rubbed the arm where she'd hit him. "You're not all that kind, are you?"
"And you've just figured that out?" She smiled wickedly.
Brone rolled his eyes. "Get some sticks for you guys to use."
She pushed Garrett back down. "Save your strength. You're going to need it." She grinned as she left them.
"She doesn't play well with others, does she?" Garrett asked growing wary as to what she was planning.
"No." Brone answered simply.
Painful was an understatement as to what she had put him through on the first lesson. He leaned back in the saddle to ease the soreness of his back, while she seemed very content and pleased with herself in her own. "Can we hold off on tomorrow's lesson?"
"Why? You don't want to quit do you?" she asked acting shocked.
"No, but I think you've bruised my spine.... my shoulder, and I think you broke one of my ribs, but I may be wrong...."
"Awww.... poor Garrett..." She falsely pouted.
"You're loving this, aren't you?"
She smiled, "Indeed, I am.... you do remember that time you didn't believe that I could fight well enough, don't you?"
"Yes and that time was when I was completely ignorant. I'm sorry, and I will never believe such things again... now you won't hurt me again tomorrow, will you?"
"Oh, I don't know.... It's kind of fun to see you cringe." She grinned.
"Well, I'm glad you're at least enjoying it..." He said sarcastically.

amusedwriter rambles
Things I write for no apparent reason other than to pass the time. Most stories have no endings, but contain an awful lot of meaningless dialogs. Other entries are basically boring life occurrences that have nothing to do with my stories whatsoever.
